Pit in the lands of Mosside to the Balbardie coal at 15 fathoms, Jewel coal at 42 fathoms and Bathgate Main coal at 54 fathoms.

The 1883 List of Mines records Mosside No.2, owned by Gavin Paul, manager Walter Annan, working the Main coal by the longwall method, employing 5 on the surface and 50 underground. The downcast shaft was 4' x 6' and 42 ft deep, the upcast was 14' x 6' and 252 feet deep. It was a non-fiery mine.
