    • A young man named Armstrong, a clerk in the employ of Messrs. Gibson and Co., of Ramsey, Isle of Man, placed against his tougue a cork which was saturated with a poisonous chemical used in destroying the bad smell arising from paraffin oil. The consequence was that he was seized with all the symptoms of poising and died in great agony.
